Eating Skunk?
Hola Hola
This week has been wild! Kinda,,
First an update on our two friends Gina and Charlotte. Gina is so solid and has a such a strong testimony and we get to baptize her this Saturday! Elder Mahoni and I could not be more excited for her. Our other Friend Charlotte accepted a baptismal invitation on Tuesday and we put her on date for March 12th so that is also so exciting. Sadly I won't be there to see Charlotte get baptized because,.... I'm going to Bolivia on March 11th! Wow the day has come! I'm so excited and can't wait to get out there. I also know that there is still work to be done here in Salem, Indiana and you better believe I'm gonna be working up until the last minute.
This week we had an interesting dinner appointment with a member family. The family is awesome and everything was pretty normal, but then as we were about to leave them with a quick message, all of the sudden one of their boys pulled out a skunk from nowhere and put him in my arms while the other son pulled out a ferret and started rolling him like a bowling ball? It was not quite the end to the dinner we expected. Needless to say the "Diesel Weasel" and I became great friends as I fed him popcorn of all things hahah!
Finally I just want to stress the importance of testimonies a minute. There is a couple that we are teaching, Joe and Jennifer, that we taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this last week. The first couple lessons with them were a breeze and they didn't have any real questions or concerns. This one was similar as we taught about faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end, but afterwards Joe brought up that he doesn't think God would allow there to be only one set way to return to Him and have only one true church. We were lowkey caught off because he had never had any big concerns like this, but I just bore testimony of our loving Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ and His atonement and about the Restoration of Their true church. I felt the spirit strongly and hope that they could too and that their hearts were softened even a little by it.
Testimonies are so important and are our foundation in this Gospel. A testimony deeply rooted in Christ is sure to hold you through challenges and hardships. Still, they can't be dormant. Continue to strengthen your testimony so that you can confidently testify in the eye of opposition.
Sorry this email is a little longer, but I hope you're all doing so good!
Con cariño
