What's Poppin

Image
Buenos días everyone what's popping This week has been quite something. It's been one of the busiest weeks. We had zone conference and President boosted us all way up telling us we can go to the temple every 3 months now, but then bumped us back down by roasting us for how little we're baptizing as a mission.  We tried to extend the invitation to be baptized to Ernesto again, he was so grateful and said he doesn't think he can and doesn't think he will ever be able to, but that he wants to go to church every Sunday and read the book of Mormon and participate in all the activities. He then followed all of that up by saying that he won't be a member, but he is 100% positive that when he has a family one day, his kids will all be members of the church. It's like cool, but wouldn't it be cooler to baptize your kids into the church? and wouldn't it be nice to also receive blessings? The man threw us a real nice curveball there. Yesterday the mountain behi...

The 2 JAS guys

What's up everyone how goes it? This week has been something else and super successful. We got back to those exchanges but only wound up with 3 by the end of the week. This week we also handed out 19 copies of the Book of Mormon which was super cool.  We have our two friends Gabriel and Brandon that we've been teaching a little but always go to church and they each accepted a baptismal date for November 5th so we're pretty hyped for that. There are a couple things that could stop that date from going through, but they will 100% be getting baptized and we're just praying that it's that day. That's all for now, I hope you all have an awesome week! Elder Holdstock

Transfer Week

What is up everyone?! This week has been so fast and we've had some super long days. It was transfer week so we were excited to see if Elder Gallo and I would stay together, and we did! So far in my mission iver served in one transfer in America, then 6 in Bolivia and I've never repeated a companion. I'm now here starting my second with the good ol' rooster which will he a fun time. The first real Mexican came to the mission this week as well. We have extra beds in our house so the Elder got to stay with us until transfers. We were talking to him about Bolivia and what to expect and we told him there was no spice in Bolivia and he said "oh I know, I came prepared" then pulled out a couple hot sauce bottles from his suit case jaja Our friends are still slowly but surely progressing and have all been to church 3 times, they have just been traveling nonstop and only have time to come to church. It's awesome because that means they'll stay in the church ...

My President Diagnosed me with Diabetes

Image
Hola hola a todos! This week was jam packed and just full of crazy stories and things I never expected to happen. I haven't written about those exchanges much, but they haven't stopped. I still just hop around from one area to the next all day everyday which is super cool. I'm getting to know a lot of places.  This week we had to go to the office one day and President asked me what was wrong with my eye. I was confused and said nothing, then told him how a couple of days ago I was going blind in an eye (more like I was just really tired and had like a blind spot) but that I'm fine now. He diagnosed with diabetes on the spot and sent me to and eye doctor to get checked out immediately. After my first ever eye appointment of my life and getting my eyes stabbed with needles, the doctor said my eyes are "casi perfectos." My President doesn't believe it and is making me wear someone's blue light glasses now jajaja Something really cool we're doing in ...

Hola hola a todos I don't have much to write about this week. It was a long grindy one, but we made it through in the end.  Our friend Ernesto continues to be amazing, but now he confuses us a lot. We extended him the baptismal invitation and he was so excited about it, but then his doubts came out about some things that didn't worry us at all. It's really hard when someone loves the church and literally every teaching and even says it's awesome and they don't do that or teach that in his church, but then turns down the invitation because he has deep roots in his religion, but we didn't discourage ourselves. He joined us in the conference and absolutely loved it. After the first session he said he had received so many answers to his questions, then proceeded to go home and share averting with his family. The next day he told us he wouldn't be able to make it, but 30 minutes before the end of the morning session he texted us and said that he was on his way....
