Refinding the lost guys

What is up everyone? I've been having an absolute blast all the way up here in Cerro Rico, Potosí. In these past two weeks we have been pretty busy. We have been filling our days with a million things to do and each day brings a whole new experience to the missionary work.  In the past 2 weeks we have been able to help 6 of our friends accept a baptismal invitation and 3 of them will be entering the waters of baptism this week, so we are super hyped for that. We've been grinding and we are about to start seeing the fruits of these efforts.  Yesterday before Church, we had did our last hail Mary of reminding and inviting people to Come to church, and so many of them started throwing excuses. A week ago we had 15 of our friends at church and we had set a goal of 10 and were worried 2 people would show up. A grand joy that came from church is that 3 inactive families came to church. 3 families that we visited and reminded them of the joy that the gospel brings. It made me so happ...

What's up everyone?  I've been out here surviving up in the heights of Cerro Rico preaching the word of God to so many people and it's been incredible. It brings so much joy.  This week we were able to have a lesson with Laura and Wilson, and we were able to meet the two sisters, his parents, and one of the boyfriends. They are all interested and have such awesome questions to help them progress in the Gospel. Laura should hopefully be getting baptized this week, but she's a little nervous. We are excited for her and for Wilson because we want to have him baptize her which will be an awesome experience. This week we also had zone conference down here in Potosí. It was awesome and we talked a lot about setting goals and making plans to accompany our goals, recognizing the spirit and helping our friends to recognize it too, and remembering that God fulfills the desires of our hearts when we so everything he asks us to do. From the conference my companion and I have been...

What is up everyone! Writing to you from a far away land called Potosí. I finally got transferred after 6 months of living a very different experience of the mission. I have been booted out to Potosí with my new companion Elder Llanque. He is my first Bolivian companion and I wasn't sure how things were gonna go after the first couple hours, but now we are balling and having a really good time and we will  see so many of our friends in the water making covenants with God this transfer.  A few transfers back when I was in Amancayas I met this family of like 9 kids that was progressing really well and wanted to get baptised, just couldn't because they worked every day. After I left the area, the dad was able to get baptized with one of the sons, but after a little time the couple had problems and the dad took off to Potosí with 2 of his kids. It just so happens that it was the area of Cerro Rico where I am now. Wilson hadn't been going to church since moving to Potosí bec...

What is up everyone and happy New year!  This week has been a fun little adventure. We have been super busy with a bunch of little tasks and keeping on with those little daily exchanges, but we're balling. I feel like I know everywhere in Cochabamba now which has been super cool.  This week on an exchange we had a lesson with this guy who has so much desire to learn about the gospel and gonto church every Sunday and do everything that a good member does. Sounds perfect, but then Satan decides to throw a bunch stuff in everyone's path. He hasn't been able to leave his house for more than a year and he's been going through it in terms of challenges for a really long time. Luckily God promises us in the famous 1 nephi 3:7 scripture tha5 there is always hope and a way to keep all of his commandments. We just gotta help him find the solution now.  Have an awesome week Elder  Holdstock
