The richest hill you'll ever see
What is up everyone!
Writing to you from a far away land called Potosí.
I finally got transferred after 6 months of living a very different experience of the mission. I have been booted out to Potosí with my new companion Elder Llanque. He is my first Bolivian companion and I wasn't sure how things were gonna go after the first couple hours, but now we are balling and having a really good time and we will see so many of our friends in the water making covenants with God this transfer.
A few transfers back when I was in Amancayas I met this family of like 9 kids that was progressing really well and wanted to get baptised, just couldn't because they worked every day. After I left the area, the dad was able to get baptized with one of the sons, but after a little time the couple had problems and the dad took off to Potosí with 2 of his kids. It just so happens that it was the area of Cerro Rico where I am now. Wilson hadn't been going to church since moving to Potosí because he didn't know where it was, we were able to call him Saturday night and was so excited to take his 2 kids on Sunday and it was a happy little reunion. He's here with his daughter who didn't get baptized in Cochabamba, so we are hoping to get her baptized by her dad this week or next. We will see how that goes. A big testimony grower that God puts us in places where we need to be at the exact moment.
Potosí is beautiful, and super cold. I sleep with 7 blankets at night and see my breath as I walk around. They say Cerro Rico is the highest and coldest area in the country which is a flex. Yesterday we even saw hail. It was crazy. I'm so excited for this new area and new chance to change people's live teaching them the restored gospel.
Take care everyone
Elder Holdstock
