7-Up, 7-Down
Hola hola everyone!
This week has been a tough one. We started the week with so much success last Sunday and we had 7 people planned and ready to be baptized this last Saturday. For one reason or another throughout the week all 7 of them fell through so we ended up with none which was sad to see. What made it worse was that all 7 of these people want to be baptized to badly and take the steps they need to follow Jesus Christ's example. They each have a challenge that is either the lack of support from family that scares them, or parents not married, or just straight up nerves. We have faith that they will be able to overcome these challenges and that the blessings from God will be poured out in then and their families.
This week we spent a lot of time finding some new people to teach. I'm always amazed how when we are in tune with the spirit and doing the things we need to be doing, we are blessed and are lead right to the door that needs us right then. This happened with our new friend Virginia. We were out knocking doors and I saw this red door with a little red roof and knew I needed to knock it. She ended up opening it up and see the missionaries and said "oh elders" so I just assumed that she was already a member. Turns out she had met the missionaries long ago and they had given her a blessing and she's been hoping to see then again then we showed up. Now we are teaching her and her nietos and they are progressing so well.
Being a missionary is awesome and has shown me how powerful the Book of Mormon is. If we're not reading it everyday we should be and we will be happier and blessed more for it. This week I loved and have memorized 3 Nephi 11:23 and it has helped a lot of our friends to overcome some chslle ged in their lives. I know this gospel can help overcome anything that stands in your way of finding pure joy because that's what God wants for us.
I love you all and hope you have an awesome day and week!
Con cariño
