Milagros

 Hola hola a todos!

This week has been a rollercoaster. We were up so high seeing success and so many miracles with our friends, then it all came tumbling down in the end and it was so sad.

One of these miracles happen with la familia Suarez who we've been teaching for a long time and they wanted to get baptized and were on date for the 16 of April, but the parents didn't get married in time so they couldn't get baptized. Well this week the dad who we always communicate through was kinda ghosting us and we were confused because they used to respond quick and loved us. Elder Lever and I both really felt that we needed to visit this family on Wednesday, but the dad wasn't giving us anyway to visit with them. The whole day after every lesson or call or contact we'd make, we'd check the phone to see if they'd responded and we could visit them. We kept getting rejected and thought all hope was lost. After one of our lessons were walking home talking about how we can help this family when all of the sudden Elder Lever stopped and said "I just got this idea and pushed it away then remembered that's what Satan wants us to do so here's the idea" it was to knock their door right at 7:30. We didn't know why 7:30, but it's what we did. When they answered, the mom came out and saw it was us so she rushed to let us in. She had been crying and kept saying that she had been praying we would show up. Turns out there was an argument between her and her "husband" and they don't think they want to get married and she had seen the messages on his phone of us asking to come over and him saying no so she was praying that we would come anyway and we did! She said that she had to run some errands and got back at 7:25 and hoped that she didn't miss us. It was so crazy for us and a testimony that the spirit is always helping us while we're out here on the Lord's errand.

We ended up talking for a long time and got her and her two kids to commit to baptism that Saturday if she was going to be home from her trip to Oruro. We left feeling so good about everything and saying so many prayers of thanks. That was us getting built up, and then it all came crashing down when they stopped answering us and we saw the dad was back in the house. We don't know why it sll happened the way it did, but it helped us to remember that this is the Lord's work and he knows better thsn us. All we can do is recognize and follow the prompting of His Spirit and we've done our part.

The mission is awesome! It's tough and leaves us speechless in good and not so good ways, but the Lord knows better. Always trust in Him.

Love you all! Kinda a long one so thanks for reading! Hope you're all doing well!

Con cariño,
Elder Holdstock
