Week 5 - I'm Bad at Subjects so Pretend it's Cool
¡Hola a todos! This last week has been really really good. It hasn't been smooth sailing, but you can't expect it to be on the mission.
A lot of the days are similar. We spend a lot of time in class learning how to teach in Spanish and how to connect with people on a deeper level in order to really know how we can help them and their concerns or needs. My Spanish has gotten so much better already in the 2 weeks we've been trying to do all Spanish. I hope that when I make it to Bolivia my Spanish will be good enough to at least kind of be able to understand the people.
A miracle that I've seen this week has to do with the uniting of my district. A lot of times people talk about how they loved their MTC district and they were friends for life, but that wasn't how the missionaries in my district were. There was a lot of contention between companionships and you can't have that. After a lot of prayers and district meetings, I've been able to see how much the Lord has changed the hearts of everyone here. Everyone now really enjoys spending time together and studying together and learning together. My testimony of prayer and a loving Heavenly Father has definitely grown through it.
We had Elder Soares give a devotional last night and it was incredible! His message was about the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is the 3rd lesson in Preach My Gospel. It was a good reminder that even those who have been baptized and lived their lives in the
church still need to take the steps of having faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repenting, renewing and remembering our covenants, and doing this over and over in order to keep ourselves on the right path and growing closer to the Lord.
We get to go to the temple every P-day which is awesome because the temple is awesome! Today was super special because President and Sister Porter, the MTC presidency, were in our session and we sat right next to him! It was super cool.
A scripture that has really helped me this week is Docterine and Covenants 1:18-23. Feelings of inadequacy or doubt have come and gone a lot recently. These verses have helped to remind me that it's okay to feel weak. In fact, God uses weak people all the time to do amazing things. We can't do it alone, but we have a loving Heavenly Father that is there to help us when we turn to Him. So turn to Him.
I hope you are all doing so good! Thank you for the messages and prayers! I Love you all!
Con cariño
