I'm Not Learning Portugués Anymore

 Hola hola a todos!

How is everyone doing this fine morning? This week down here in the land of the chuño and matecito de manzanilla has been wild. This week we had transfers and Elder Nóbrega left and went to my home over in Sacaba. Now Elder Gallo and I are ballin it up over here in Villa Moscú and it's been a party.

Yesterday we had el día de peatón which is where there are no cars in the road and everyone is outside with their friends or with their familias. We're supposed to have am english class each week, but President sent out a messages that all english clases would be canceled and that we had to contact 50 people in the streets. We were hyped and got straight to work. We searched for familias and found so many. At one point we were walking and this little kid yells at us from across the street so we went and talked to him and his family and they were super cool.

We were also doing of thirst and heat because we hadn't gone home after church and we had fasted all day, but we kept grinding. Then we contacted these other people that were eating ice cream and they said "ah! Ustedes son hermanos" and then proceeded to hand us ice creams out of a bag that they had which was an answer to a prayer. They weren't interested in hearing our message though.

The last person we found was our friend Ernesto. We were walking home after being out all day sweaty and all to finally drink some water when we passed this guy and he just asked us, "uno de ustedes habla ingles?" So I said I do and we proceeded to speak English all the way to his house. He told me how he used to study in America but returned to Bolivia and that just last week he went to the temple to talk to tell tye administration that their house is really big and wants missionaries to live there. It was so cool. He talked about wanting to know more about angel moroni and I told him that I had just found a book of Mormon in our house in english. He was so happy and then followed us another 35 minutes to our house so we could get the book for him. Then we gifted him the book and he said "I have time right now. Can you teach me about this book?" So we went over to the temple and taught the restoration and the spirit was so strong. It was such a cool experience and this an is so ready to accept the gospel in his life.

A little long the email, but we've had a lot of crazy experiences this week. I hope everyone has an awesome week.

Con cariño
Elder Holdstock
